A specialist in product development and value engineering, he has delivered complex systems across a wide range of sectors, spanning defence, energy, manufacturing, aerospace electronics and industrial automation.
A rare blend of exceptional skills
Simon’s love of learning and his curiosity for how things work were clear from a young age, when he proved highly adept at dismantling and successfully reassembling complex mechanisms – including his mother’s vacuum cleaner – an early sign of the engineering mindset that would shape his life.
Throughout his career his exceptional recall and ability to visualise complex systems have helped him quickly identify efficient solutions and solve challenging problems. These strengths have seen him secure and excel in high-level engineering roles, including within military communications.
With skills in machining, welding, CNC programming, laser cutting, robotics and PCB design, and 3D additive print systems. Simon can engage rapid prototyping and the delivery of practical, production-ready concepts and turn them into efficient, manufacturable, and fully integrated solutions. This varied skillset benefits GX's clients throughout the product design lifecycle. And his passion for taking projects from inception through to completion, working closely with colleagues, clients and supply chains, makes him a natural fit for the team.

Away from work, Simon channels his engineering mindset into building and experimenting with electronics in his home lab. Music is another lifelong passion; his self-built recording studio features highly technical equipment he has designed himself and shared with fellow musicians.
