A worldwide successful medical product to be showcased by GX Group at Med-Tech Expo

13 April 2015

A groundbreaking medical training device, the ScanTrainer from Medaphor will take centre stage for product design consultancy GX Group when they attend the forthcoming, Med-Tech Expo 2015 due to be held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry from 29-30 April

The event has become the leading medical device design and manufacturing event which Welsh based GX Design Engineers, part of the GX Group, are looking forward to attending. Manning the GX Group stand will be Claire Banks, the business development manager for GX Design Engineers, accompanied by managing director, Mark Helmich.

“We work in partnership with both the medical and pharmaceutical industries developing award winning scientific instruments, diagnostic devices, hospital equipment as well as surgical and healthcare products,” notes Mark. “This year we are very proud to be showcasing another of our successful medical products, the ScanTrainer. We worked in collaboration with the client to build in haptic sensations to this medical device to help to teach vital ultrasound scanning skills to doctors and sonographers.

Through our product refinement we introduced a new manufacturing process to allow future production to be carried out on an ad hoc basis with virtually no tooling. As units can be made to order it is a cost effective way of manufacturing a medical device which is greatly accelerating ultrasound skills around the world.”

Pharmaceutical and life science companies who wish to speak to GX Group about designing and developing an innovative and cost-effective medical product will be able to find them on Stand 50, along with Medilink UK.
