GX Group applauds the Government’s decision to invest £30 million in the automotive industry
22 January 2015For the past 10 years GX Group has collaboratively worked on high quality automotive projects, pioneering new technology for BMW, Citroen, Ford, Renault and Skoda. The Welsh based product design engineers yesterday applauded the decision by the Government to heavily invest in the industry through a project backed by the Automotive Council.
Commenting on the announcement, managing director, Mark Helmich said; “We were delighted to hear that the Government is investing in the automotive sector following the announcement on 20th January by Business Secretary, Vince Cable that they are assigning £11.3 million to of government funding alongside a £2.8 million cash investment and £16.4 million in-kind contributions from industry to boost skills.
We have already seen how our own in-house skills in electronics and optronics have helped deliver innovative and complex designs and prototypes to successful effect for the automotive industry. Investing in the next generation of design engineers will show young people that this is an exciting area to deploy their skills and will help to ensure that the car industry continues to grow and develop new ideas here in the UK.”
