Value engineering conducted by GX helps client scoop a second award
21 April 2016Last night at the Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards Gala Dinner 2016 in association with Med-Tech Innovation, Welsh based company, Medaphor scooped the Export Achievement Award for their ScanTrainer. This is the second export award for revolutionary product which they export worldwide.
The ScanTrainer is an advanced ultrasound training simulator which underwent extensive value engineering by the product team at GX. The team at GX were asked to review the manufacturing costs for the ultrasound scanner with a view to reducing production costs. The design engineering team reviewed the existing CAD data, introducing a new manufacturing process which did not require expensive tooling, thereby reducing costs and allowing units to be made to order.
“We are absolutely delighted that Medaphor has once again been recognised for their efforts in selling the ScanTrainer worldwide,” acknowledged Mark Helmich, managing director of GX. “It is a fantastic product and one which we have been proud to help improve upon the original design. We’d like to extend our congratulations to Nicholas Sleep and his team at Medaphor for their outstanding performance in trading overseas.”
As a result of the value engineering conducted by the product design team at GX the ScanTrainer has recently been chosen by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ABOG) for all their obstetrics and gynaecology exams.
