4 March 2016The life science sector within Wales is now a major contributor to the Welsh economy, contributing £2 billion each year. As a measure of its importance the Welsh Government established. As a measure of its importance the Welsh Government established the Life Science Hub within Cardiff Bay in July 2014, to encourage those involved within the industry to meet others and share ideas.
The Hub now has 65 members who regularly use the open plan space for meetings. Amongst the members is GX who joined as a member in September 2015. As a product design engineering company who uses life science technology to develop ground breaking products, they now regularly base themselves there once a week. GX also participate in the Hub’s programme of events including the meet the expert consultation session, allowing companies to book a free 30-minute consultation with key personnel.
On 10th March, fellow members of the Hub and even outside guest companies, can book one of the 30 minute consultations to meet up with GX’s managing director, Mark Helmich and business development manager, Claire Banks. The sessions are available from 1-3pm on 10th March, and offer the opportunity to learn more about GX’s expertise and to discuss how GX could help turn their idea for a life science product into a reality.
As Mark Helmich notes, “Over the past 30 years, we have designed a number of products by harnessing life sciences, whether it be an industrial water monitor to measure water contamination, a device using plasma to heal wounds or an in-vitro system which mimics the human stomach.
